Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of management information systems (MIS) in crisis management in two pivotal educational institutions in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, namely the First and Second Karkh Education Directorates. The study relied on a descriptive and analytical approach, by distributing a carefully designed questionnaire to a sample of (40) respondents from the First and Second Karkh Education Directorates, comprising various administrative levels (senior, middle, and supervisory). Data was collected and analyzed using appropriate statistical methods to test hypotheses and achieve the study objectives. The study results showed a moderate significant direct correlation between MIS and its dimensions and crisis management. The correlation value was 0.663, and the Sig. value was less than 0.05, which indicates a significant correlation coefficient. In light of the results, the researcher recommended the development of the digital infrastructure within the two directorates, linking it to flexible central information systems, and adopting an early crisis monitoring system based on clear quantitative and qualitative indicators and standards.
