Strategic Vigilance and its role in enhancing organizational brilliance: An Exploratory Study of the Opinions of a Sample of academic staff in private institutions in Duhok Governorate and independent zakho administration

Abstract

This study aims to identify the role of strategic vigilance dimensions in enhancing organizational brilliance. Private institutes were selected as the field for the practical part of the research. The study was based on a set of main hypotheses that were tested in the field across five private institutes in Duhok Governorate and the Zakho Independent Administration. The study community was represented by (205) faculty members in the researched institutes, and (149) questionnaires were distributed to the faculty members in those institutes as the study sample, meaning that the sample percentage was (72.6%), and the descriptive analytical method was used for the study, and data were collected using a structured questionnaire specifically designed for this purpose. The data were analyzed using a set of statistical techniques through the SPSS (V.26) software to examine the correlation and influence relationships between the study variables.

The findings revealed a significant positive correlation between the dimensions of strategic vigilance and organizational brilliance, as well as a meaningful impact of strategic vigilance on organizational brilliance. Based on these findings, several recommendations were proposed, the most important of which is encouraging the investigated institutes to implement strategic vigilance practices within their administrative and educational frameworks—particularly through the establishment of dedicated units for strategic monitoring and analysis—due to their vital contribution to decision-making and the enhancement of institutional performance efficiency.
