Abstract

This study aimed to investigate Organizational Conflict Management and Its Relationship with Organizational Culture: An Applied Study in the Iraqi Ministry of Education. The study population consisted of all employees working in the directorates affiliated with the headquarters of the Iraqi Ministry of Education in Baghdad Governorate, totaling 3,935 employees. A random sampling method was used to select a sample of 394 employees, representing 10% of the study population.

To achieve the research objectives, the researchers developed two measurement scales. The first scale, related to organizational conflict management, included 30 items, while the second scale, measuring organizational culture, consisted of 20 items. All statistical analyses were conducted using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), employing the following statistical methods: frequencies and percentages, Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient, Pearson correlation coefficient, and the one-sample t-test.

The research methodology served as the foundational design for the study, reflecting the researchers' understanding of the problem. It enabled the formulation of strategies for collecting data and information in a systematic, integrated, and coherent manner. Given the nature of the study's main variables, the descriptive-analytical method was adopted. This method not only involves data collection to describe the phenomenon but also focuses on examining facts related to phenomena and events by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to extract implications and reach conclusions and generalizations that help in understanding reality.

Findings of the study: There is a statistically significant difference between the sample’s mean score (98.456) and the hypothetical mean (90) in favor of the sample’s mean score (employees) on the Organizational Conflict Management scale. There is a statistically significant difference between the sample’s mean score (72.065) and the hypothetical mean on the Organizational Culture scale. There is a correlational relationship between Organizational Conflict Management and Organizational Culture.
